The KnowledgeLake Index App will allow you to index documents that need a user to manually enter their metadata or check for errors.
Considerations
- The Index App will only show batches that have been assigned to you in a process or workflow. If you are expecting to see batches, ask your administrator to check the Assign tab of the Index Your Documents step in the process or workflow.
- The images shown in the viewer are pre-generated images that can be a lower quality to increase load speeds, and depending on settings, may not be representative of your final document image quality.

Index App Preferences
Users or Administrators can customize aspects of their index app's appearance and functionality. These settings are located in the configuration app and those permissions must be granted to the user in order for them to be able to utilize this option.
- Open the Configuration App and select User Settings
- Click the Index App Preferences tab
- Within this section, you have two setting options:
-
Default View Mode: This gives you the option to choose how the selected document appears in your index app
- Fit Width prioritizes the width of the page/document so that it fills the document viewer pane
- Best Fit adjusts the document size so the entire page/document is able to be viewed at once
- Fit Height prioritizes the height of the document so the whole page is in view
- Remember Previous View Mode keeps track of the view settings chosen when the index app was used last. This view can be adjusted using the controls in the bottom-righthand corner of the index screen.
-
Index Panel Field Focus allows you to choose where your cursor lands upon opening a document to index.
- First Available Field brings your cursor to the first available index field so the user can immediately start indexing from that point forward.
- Content type Selector selects the content type selector field so the directional pad can be used to change the content type first.
- First Empty Field brings your cursor to the first empty field so the index user can immediately begin filling in the missing value
- First Empty Required Field brings your cursor to the first required empty field. If there are no empty required fields, it will default to the first available field.
-
Default View Mode: This gives you the option to choose how the selected document appears in your index app
- Once you have selected your choices, click Save
