KnowledgeLake provides a simple upload app your users can utilize to tag and send digital documents to a process.

Terminology
The Drop Zone is the gray area in the upload app where you can drag and drop or navigate to documents for upload.
Uploading Documents
There are 2 methods you can utilize in the upload app to get a document ready to index. You can drag and drop files from your desktop, or you can click the Drop Zone in the upload app to fire off an upload.
Drag and Drop
- From the KnowledgeLake Landing Page, select Upload
- From your desktop or Windows Explorer, select the files you'd like to upload. If multiple documents, use Ctrl+Left Click.
NOTE: Selecting multiple files will have each file be a document inside of a batch
- Drag and Drop these items onto your drop zone
- The Index Panel should appear. Index your documents and click Upload
Please Note: As of the writing of this article, the recommended maximum file size for documents in the Upload app is 800mb.
Navigate to Files
- From the KnowledgeLake Landing Page, select Upload
- Click the Drop Zone to load the file navigator.
- Select the files you'd like to upload. If multiple documents, use Ctrl+Left Click.
- Click Open
- The Index Panel should appear. Index your documents and click Upload

Using the Document Viewer
To toggle the document viewer in the Upload App, click the viewer button () in the upper left-hand corner of the index panel.
In the viewer, you will be shown your current document as well as controls for viewing the document along the bottom bar in the viewer:

Toggle Sidebar
Clicking the Toggle Sidebar icon makes a sidebar appear to the left of the document preview with the following options. If you are not utilizing certain features outlined below, the buttons will be disabled.-
Show Thumbnails: This will give you thumbnails of each image to navigate through the document.

Show Document Outline - If your PDF contains bookmarks, this button will list them and allow you to navigate them within your document.

Show Attachments - If your PDF contains an attached file, you can select this to show the file names.
NOTE: If using attachments within PDFs, please note that they will error in any Image Processing activities and will need to be uploaded as their original file. - Show Layers - If you are using layers within your PDF, this button will list them and allow them to be toggled between visible and invisible.

Find in Document
Clicking the Find in Document icon opens a document search bar at the top of viewer. This search bar allows users to search for specific words within a document with the ability to highlight all instances, match casing, match diacritics, and filter whole words. -
Previous Page
If viewing a page within a document that is not the first page, clicking the Previous Page icon will navigate the user to the previous page of the document. -
Next Page
If viewing a page within a document that is not the last page, clicking the Next Page icon will navigate the user to the next page of the document. -
Page Number input
This input allows a user to quickly navigate to a desired page of a document set by entering the page's number. -
Zoom Out
Clicking the Zoom Out icon decreases the size of the page within the Viewer. -
Zoom In
Clicking the Zoom In icon increases the size of the page within the Viewer. -
Zoom Selection Dropdown
The Zoom Selection dropdown contains multiple viewer format options such as Automatic Zoom, Actual Size, Page Fit, Page Width, as well as various zoom percentage options. -
Open File
Opens the current file in the native PDF viewing application. -
Print
Clicking the Print icon will open a print window where users can print the selected document. -
Save
Clicking the Save icon will download the document within the browser as a .pdf. -
Tools
Clicking the Tools icon will open a tools panel that contains the following elements:- Presentation Mode: Enlarges the document viewer to full screen and hides the viewer elements as well as the index panel.
- Go to First Page: Navigates the user to the first page of the document.
- Go to Last Page: Navigates the user to the last page of the document.

Rotate Clockwise: Rotates the page clockwise
NOTE: This does not alter the actual page in the document. Only Index and Scan support altering pages in a document. -
Rotate Counterclockwise: Rotates the page counterclockwise
NOTE: This does not alter the actual page in the document. Only Index and Scan support altering pages in a document. - Text selection tool: Allows users to select text on a page.
- Hand tool: Allows users to click and drag the page within the viewer.
- Page Scrolling: Allows users to scroll through documents one page at a time.
- Vertical Scrolling: Allows users to scroll vertically through all pages in the document at once.
- Horizontal Scrolling: Allows users to scroll horizontally through all pages in the document at once.
- No Spreads: Does not join page spreads.
- Odd Spreads: Join page spreads starting with odd-numbered pages.
- Even Spreads: Join page spreads starting with even-numbered pages.
- Document Properties: Opens the document properties window displaying all relevant properties for the selected document.
Removing a Document from the Upload Queue
To remove a document when uploading multiple documents in the Upload App, click the delete button () in the upper left-hand corner of the index panel.
